Minor footballers face Kildare in concluding Leinster MFL group game

Fri, 26th February 2016

Dublin minor footballers play Kildare in their last group game of the Leinster MFL Group 1 at Parnell Park on Saturday (12.0).

Paddy Christie's side top the group on scoring difference from Cork with the Dubs currently enjoying a +5 point advantage over the Rebels.

Dublin drew with the Rebels, 1-13 each, in their opening game at the Donnycarney venue before overcoming Wexford, 3-15 to 0-8, last Saturday in Ferns with their goals coming from Seán Bugler, Ross McGarry and Michael Courtney.

Cork defeated Kildare 3-17 to 1-12 last Saturday in Hawkfield.

On Saturday the Rebels travel to play Wexford (1.0).

The top team in the group will progress to the Leinster MFL semi-final with direct head-to-head the first criterion for separating two counties on equal league points, after that it is scoring difference, and then greater scoring return.

Kildare have two teams participating in this year's Leinster MFL with Cill Dara in pole position in their group to advance to the semi-finals.

The Dubs face Offaly in Parnell Park on Saturday, April 16 in the Leinster MFC first round with the winner advancing to the provincial quarter-final while the loser must battle through the qualifiers to make the last-eight.
