Alan McCrabbe (28) has opted out of the Dublin hurling panel for 2015 owing to family and work commitments.
“Obviously it’s very disappointing and a major blow to lose a player of Alan’s calibre,” says Dublin selector Gearóid Ó Riain.
“But we fully understand and respect Alan’s reason for opting out of the panel for this year. Being an inter-county player involves a very heavy commitment for lads in terms of time and the onerous demands that are placed on them, and Alan just decided that he couldn’t continue in that vein for any longer.”
Niall Corcoran, Gary Maguire and Conal Keaney have all committed to Ger Cunningham’s panel who face DIT in their Walsh Cup opener on Sunday, January 18 in Parnell Park in their Group 2 encounter (Antrim are the other county in group).
