Lucan power their way past O’Toole’s

LUCAN SARSFIELDS 3-18 O’TOOLE’S 1-15

Lucan hit three first half goals to claim victory in this Dublin SHC quarter-final replay at Parnell Park on Sunday afternoon.

Sarsfields will now play St Jude’s in their semi-final with Cuala awaiting in the decider following their semi-final victory over Ballyboden St Enda’s.

Kevin Fitzgerald got Lucan off to the best possible start when he rifled to the net within the opening 30 seconds.

Before the 20^th minute marker Fitzgerald showed great vision to pick out Eoghan Ó Conghaile who gave Brendan McLoughlin no chance in the O’Toole’s goal.

The Larriers were rocked further when Seán McClelland picked his spot in the top corner for Lucan to lead 3-7 to 0-12 at the break with with of O’Toole’s scores coming from Niall Arthur (seven from deadball situations).

The deadball accuracy of Kevin O’Reilly kept the scoreboard ticking over for Lucan while Dublin senior footballer Emmett O Conghaile spectacularly fielded some ball at midfield.  Liam Ryan grabbed a late consolation goal for O’Toole’s who had Jody Bastow red-carded before the finish.
