The Little Museum of Dublin this week opened a new exhibition at their museum: Heffo’s Army – The Rise of Dublin GAA this week.
The exhibition is dedicated to the late, great Kevin ‘Heffo’ Heffernan; former Dublin GAA footballer and manager, regarded as one of the greatest Gaelic footballers of all-time.
Fans will get a once in the lifetime opportunity to see Heffo’s rare footage, photographs and personal memorabilia from fans and players.
Heffernan's club hurling and football career coincided with a hugely successful period in the history of St Vincent’s GAA club.
A celebrated Dubliner and All-Ireland winner, Heffernan was previously granted Freedom of the City of Dublin.
The Heffo’s Army exhibition at The Little Museum of Dublin opens to the public from Thursday March 2 until May 28 and tickets are €8 per person and €16 for families.
Trevor White, Director of The Little Museum of Dublin, says: “It is a real privilege for the museum to tell the Heffo’s Army story to not just Dubs, but Irish and international visitors. The story of Kevin, the players and indeed the fans is an amazing moment in social history of our capital and the life of the GAA.”
