Cruciate injury victims, Ciaran Kilkenny and Kevin O'Brien, are both on schedule to return to action with Dublin's senior footballers in the new year.
Both missed out on a lot of action in this year's league and the Dubs entire championship campaign after suffering knee injuries.
"Their training programmes have gone to plan and their plan would be to see action at the start of the year," says Dublin manager Jim Gavin.
The Dublin manager is expecting a decision in the next fortnight from Alan Brogan and Denis Bastick regarding their future plans at intercounty level.
Jim has met with both players recently: "We've had discussions with those players, but it's really not until we go back as a group in early December that those players will make those final decisions," says Jim.
"I've discussed it with them, and those players are important bot Dublin football - but the fit has to be right for those players."
