Dublin minor hurling manager Johnny McGuirk has praised the character shown by his panel to force extra-time before defeating Kilkenny in last Saturday's exciting Electric Ireland Leinster MHC semi-final at Parnell Park.
Despite creating the more clearcut goal chances Dublin trailed by three points deep in injury-time before sub Donal Burke's late goal secured a draw in normal time for the boys in blue.
“We must have had three or four really good goal chances that we didn’t convert but we’ll take the win any day of the week.
“We knew a lot of things were right with the performance and if we weren’t creating chances than we would have been worried.
“You have got to keep believing and driving the lads on and in fairness, they kept going and there is tonnes of character in that panel," says Johnny.
The Dubs now face Wexford in the provincial final - the sides clashed in their opening day out with the Slaneysiders winning after extra-time.
While Dublin have toppled the provincial champions of the past two summers their manager has a clear message for his players.
“We have won nothing yet and we need to stay grounded."
