Statement from Jim Gavin
On behalf of the Dublin Gaelic Athletic Association and the Dublin Senior football Team I would like to wish the very best to Alan Brogan as he announces his retirement after a 14 year long senior inter-county football career.
Alan had a memorable vocation representing the county of Dublin though minor, U21 and Senior football ranks. His collection of medals and awards is testament to the impact he had on our Gaelic games. A naturally skilful player, Alan played with great poise, resilience and self-determination throughout his career.
Captaining Dublin to their first U21 All-Ireland football title, Alan continued his leadership role with the Dublin senior football team and captained and inspired those around him, both on and off the field of play, with his commitment and dedication to Dublin GAA.
An outstanding individual and gentleman, Alan is an immense credit to his family, friends and club St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh.
Guím gach rath agus beannacht ort agus an turas nua atá romhat amach anseo.
Jim Gavin
Manager Dublin Senior Football Team
