Jackies stick with same starting 15

Dublin boss Gregory McGonigle has kept faith with the same starting 15 who starred in their two point quarter final win over Monaghan. Sorcha Furlong and Nicole Owens have safeguarded their starting positions for Saturday's contest in Parnell Park (2.0) with Armagh having come in to the side as late replacements against Monaghan.

Dublin sub’s Hannah Noonan and Niamh Collins contributed immensely to Dublin’s win over Monaghan when introduced against the Farney County. Both are named once again on the Dublin bench an indication of how fierce the competition is within the Dublin panel to claim a coveted starting spot.

Both Counties are meeting in the championship for the first time having last met in the NFL back in 2011 in a game which Dublin won comprehensively by 2-17 to 1-04.

Since that NFL meeting back in 2011 both Dublin and Armagh has undergone numerous changes in both players and management.

Armagh have been transformed under the management of James Daly winning the Ulster title in 2014 while recapturing division 1 status for 2016 on the back of their NFL division 2 league final win in May of this year

Dublin defender Sorcha Furlong earlier this week spoke highly of James Daly side “Armagh are a good expansive team, they will play the ball in quickly to the forwards, they like to play around with it and try to create lots of space for their forwards and to mix it up a bit. They have really good midfielders and really good forwards and I’d be expecting a really tough game from them and hopefully a really good game of football”.

While Hannah Noonan also reckons Dublin will have a lot of work to do to get over the Orchard County “I think it’s gonna be tough, they are a very good team, they obviously will have had their homework done on us and our management will have done our homework on them but again I would say it’s going to be a physical game and I would say it’s gonna be a quick game.

"I think Saturday's game will be physical I don’t think it will be one team running away with it, it’s gonna be tit for tat the whole way which is how you want any semi-final to be”.

The prize for Saturday’s winner is a day out in Croke Park on September 27 against reigning All-Ireland champions Cork. Cork booked their place in the 2015 final last week following a comprehensive win over Munster champions, Kerry.
