Jackies make two changes for Leinster SFC final

Jackies make two changes for Leinster SFC final

Fri, 17th July 2015

Gregory McGonigle has named his championship starting line-up for this Sunday's Ladies SFC final clash with Westmeath in Netwatch Cullen Park, Carlow (4.0).

There are two changes to the Dublin side that overcame a spirited Laois outfit in the provincial semi-final two weeks ago.

Experience defender Colleen Barrett replaces club-mate Sorcha Furlong in the Dublin half-back line while up front U21 All Ireland winner Niamh Rickard comes into the starting 15 in place of Amy Connolly.

In a positional switch McGonigle has bolstered his attacking power by positioning Carla Rowe at number 12. The versatile Rowe had played as an attacking wing-back in the encounter with Laois. In another move Clontarf’s Sarah McCaffrey returns to midfield to partner Kilmacud Crokes Molly Lamb having played at centre-forward in the semi-final win over the O’Moore County.

Although the Dubs have a new championship look for 2015 they can still call upon the services of key players for Sunday’s crunch encounter with Westmeath including current All Stars Sinead Goldrick, Noelle Healy and team captain Lyndsey Davey.
