St Jude's will take to the Parnell Park pitch this Friday night (7.45) for the first time in a Dublin SHC final hoping to add the name of the Tymon North club to the Roll of Honour in the capital.
"It’s just massive for the club. Reaching our first semi-final, and then our first final is absolutely magic,” says Jude's manager Seán Fallon.
Seán quickly pays tribute to all those in the southside club who have contributed to the game over the years to get their players to this stage..
“Those are the people that made it happen. They put such time into it. And we owe such much to those that came before us.”
Their one-point semi-final victory over an experienced O'Toole's side should stand to them on Friday night when they face Ollie Baker's Kilmacud Crokes as Danny Sutcliffe led his side to victory in a tight finish.
“It was a super match,” recalls Seán. “We have huge respect for O’Toole’s. Beating Crumlin was another big thing for us. Our game against Ballinteer was superb."
It's a theme echoed by Jude's defender Jesse Kennedy.
“It’s just amazing. It’s hard to put into words what it means to us. This year was our first semi-final and then to qualify for the final itself was just unbelievable,” says Jesse.
“The main thing is to play the game and not the occasion. We’ll be going out with the attitude that we carry into every game.
Reflecting on the victory over the Larriers last time out he adds: “It was our first semi-final, but we did not look on that as a hindrance in any way. And it will be the same now for the final.
“Fair play to O’Toole’s. They have been in so many semi-finals and finals over the last few years. From our point, it was great to get a win over such an experienced team."
