ALL-IRELAND SEVEN FOOTBALL SEVENS FINAL
KILMACUD CROKES 1-11 AN RIOCHT (Down) 1-9
Hosts Kilmacud Crokes were crowned Londis Ireland All-Ireland Senior Football Sevens champions for the sixth time on Saturday evening in Glenalbyn.
However, they had to withstand a late scare when following Deaglan Morgan's injury-time goal as the Down side pressed one last time but Dan O'Brien put in a block to avert the late danger.
Ben Shovlin hit the Crokes goal in the fifth minute and his side led 1-6 to 0-5 at the interval with Dan O'Brien, an U21 All-Ireland winner with Dublin in 2017, and Niall O'Leary, a member of this year's Dublin U20 team, kicking excellent scores.
Crokes keeper Pádraig Purcell extended his side's lead on the restart with his second of the game.
The hosts held a five-point lead late on before Morgan cut the gap to two points with his goal and later still O'Brien quelled the late danger for Karl Dias to lift the Cup.
Kilmacud Crokes' Cillian O'Shea was named the Londis Player of the Tournament.
