Naomh Fionnbarra delivered an impressive second-half performance on their way to a 2-12 to 0-9 victory over Scoil Uí Chonaill in their Go-Ahead Ireland Dublin Adult Hurling League Division 3 encounter at The Bogies on Saturday afternoon.
The win was their first of the campaign, having drawn with Naomh Olaf in Round 1, and having led by 0-5 to 0-4 at the break, they assumed control of matters upon the restart with Josh Turner producing a hugely influential display around the middle third.
His goal was just reward for his consistency throughout and with goalkeeper Tadgh Stone, Ger Dodrill and Sean Lambe all excelling in a defensive capacity, Finbarrs pulled away through five points by Eamon Dillon and a Ruairí McGrath goal.
Across in Rathcoole, Commercials maintained their unbeaten start to the year as they proved too strong for Lucan Sarsfields, winning by 3-21 to 1-13.
Adam Drewett was a constant threat from open play and placed balls as he finished the game with 0-13 (10f) to his name with Jamie Flanagan chipping in with 1-2 from corner-forward.
The visitors also had a strong impact from their bench, with Declan Molloy plundering 2-1, with both goals set up by another substitute, minor player Dara Conlon.
On Sunday morning, both Setanta and Round Towers Clondalkin matched Commercials’ perfect start as they registered home wins against O’Toole’s and Bray Emmets respectively.

In Go-Ahead Ireland AHL4, Good Counsel dominated from the outset on their way to an emphatic 3-14 to 0-8 win over previously unbeaten Skerries Harps at Galtymore Road.
The foundation for their victory lay at the back with new goalkeeper Cillian Egan rock solid between the sticks and he received great protection throughout from Corey Dunphy, Brian McGrath and Josh O’Brien.
Both Conor Forrestor and Fiach Lupton enjoyed a dominance around the middle third, allowing the likes of Corey Scannell, Shane Ryan and Ben Quinn to post a winning score by the final whistle.
Elsewhere, Kevins continue to impress at the summit of the table as they picked up their third win on the bounce when seeing off St Maur’s by 3-17 to 0-5 at Dolphin Park.
Goals proved key at Tymon Park as Kilmacud Crokes beat St Jude’s by 3-14 to 0-19 while Ballyboden St Enda’s and St Peregrine’s shared the spoils, finishing 1-14 apiece in Sancta Maria.
