Lucan Sarsfields picked up their second win of the season when defeating Faughs by 3-18 to 0-16 in Round 3 of the Go-Ahead Ireland Adult Hurling League Division 1 at Tymon Park on Sunday morning.
The hosts started brightly through Liam Mostyn and James O’Brien and while Ben Coffey replied with a goal for Lucan, they entered the break trailing by 0-11 to 1-6.
The visitors didn’t take long to overturn their deficit as they dominated the third quarter, buoyed by an excellent Sean Harkness goal, created by Donal Flannery.
A flurry of points followed from Sean McClelland, Coffey, Liam Garrigan, Flannery and Ryan Clancy as Sarsfields finished the contest strongly through a Garrigan goal and further scores by Coffey, Harkness, Kevin Fitzgerald and Jack Behan.
Across the park, there was another Templeogue triumph as St Jude’s got the better of Na Fianna by 1-19 to 0-17.
The hosts led by 0-10 to 0-9 at the break, despite playing against the breeze, with points from John Carty, Conor Nolan, Joe McManus and Ciaran Hogan central to their lead.
St Jude’s maintained that momentum after the break with a Carty goal and a trio of superb scores by Eoin McLoughlin from centre-back just reward for the influential efforts of goalkeeper Ross O’Reilly and Eoin Dolan at midfield.
Carty finished the game with 1-9 to his name with Jesson top scoring for Na Fianna with 0-7.
On Saturday afternoon, Ballyboden St Enda’s mixed youth and experience to great effect as they overcame Cuala by 3-19 to 1-19 in Páirc Uí Mhurchú.
The proven likes of Stephen O’Connor, Niall Ryan, Conor Dooley and Timmy Hammersley led the way for the hosts, with the latter chipping in with 1-4.
However, it was the younger players that particularly caught the eye with Darragh Delaney (1-4) and Darragh Ormsby (0-4) sparkling throughout while Darragh Durkin was another to impress in addition to adding a score of his own.

In Go-Ahead AHL2, Fingallians picked up their first win of the campaign as they accounted for Ballinteer St John’s by 4-13 to 1-19 at Marley Park.
The performances of Danny Levin, Seán Hickey and TJ Howard ensured that Fins stayed in the mix throughout and their ability to find the net proved the difference between the well-matched sides.
Ben Stears and Oisín Johnston scored 2-1 and 1-2 respectively while Eoin O’Connor’s 1-8 helped the visitors home with three points to spare.
There was another narrow away win in Broomfield as Castleknock pipped St Sylvester’s by the bare minimum (0-19 to 1-15).
