Ballyboughal impressed in attack as they defeated St Anne’s by 4-16 to 1-16 in their Go-Ahead Ireland Adult Football League Division 3 encounter in Ballyboughal on Saturday afternoon.
Gerry Seaver proved their scorer-in-chief with a personal tally of 2-4 with Ciaran Wynne (1-2) and Richie Downey (1-0) also finding the back of the St Anne’s net.
At the opposite end of the field, Simon Barrett and Will Rafter were the pick of the home defence and with Cahal Flynn showing well at midfield, they built up a winning tally thanks to four points from Cian Downey and three Cian Warren scores.
There was another home win in Drumnigh on Sunday morning as Trinity Gaels proved too strong for Ballymun Kickhams, prevailing by 2-17 to 0-7.
Josh McCann and Evan McDonagh accounted for the home goals while Jack Rowe kicked six points over the hour, including a brace of two-pointed scores.
Liam Glynn added four points for Trinity Gaels and with Ryan Kelly, McDonagh, Glynn and Steven Dunne all to the fore, they pulled away by the end courtesy of further scores from Joey McCann, Conor Forkan, Mark Walsh and Steven Cole.
Elsewhere, Clanna Gael Fontenoy, St Margret’s and St Patrick’s Palmerstown all enjoyed impressive away wins at Erin’s Isle, Thomas Davis and St Finian’s Swords.

In AFL4, O’Dwyer’s delivered an impressive team performance as they overcame St Jude’s by 2-9 to 0-4 in Balbriggan.
The hosts were always in control of matters with the likes of Tadgh Rooney, John Meaney, Darragh Kehoe and Cian Carroll all catching the eye.
Their collective influence was reflected in eight Cathal O’Rourke points with goals by Callum Johnson and Tristan Cawley taking the contest away from the visitors.
On Galtymore Road, Man O’War provided the highest score of the round on their way to a comprehensive 7-24 to 2-9 victory over Good Counsel/Liffey Gaels.
Sam Clancy, Fionn Slattery and Kieran Fleming did the bulk of the damage for a Man O’War side well served throughout by Niall Hughes and Daniel Moore.
