DUBLIN 2-21 DUBS STARS 1-11
A powerful start to the second half put Dublin on their way to success in Thursday afternoon’s Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars football challenge at Chanel, Parnell’s.
With Gavin Burke to the fore the Dubs Stars led 0-8 to 1-4 at the break, Dublin’s goal coming courtesy of Conor McHugh.
However, with wind advantage in the second half Dublin quickly got their noses in front and never looked back.
Ballymun Kickhams’ Davey Byrne was full of industry and was rewarded for his efforts with four points from play while Niall Collins, of St Pat’s Donabate, also impressed when scoring 1-4 from play over the 70 minutes.
Diarmuid McLoughlin found the net for the Dubs Stars in the 57th minute, but Dublin responded quickly with a Collins goal as Dublin ran out convincing winners with the likes of Harry Dawson and Brian Fenton contributing good scores.
Dublin's senior footballers face NUI Maynooth this Sunday in Parnell Park (2.0) in their opening game of the Bord na Mona O'Byrne Cup.
