Friends Of Dublin Hurling & Camogie Update- 7th April '25

Looking for match day programmes:

A search is on for 2 match day programmes going back to 1976!

It is the Leinster Minor hurling game between Dublin and Laois played in Aughrim! May 2nd. Dublin won that game! To jog your memory further it was the same day that Kildare senior hurlers beat Dublin!

We are on the search for a second one for July 4th also 1976 between Kilkenny and Dublin again a Minor game! The same day Kilkenny played Westmeath  in senior. The result of that game was Kilkenny 5-22 Westmeath 1-12  If anybody can assist with these requests please text with your name to 087 279 7090. Have a look in the box in the attic!

FODHC Annual General Meeting:

A very encouraging AGM was held in Parnell Park on Wednesday last. It was great to have both Chairpersons of Dublin GAA Board (Ken O'Sullivan) and Dublin Camogie Board (Karl O'Brien) present. Also present were Dublin Camogie Colleges, Cumann na mBunscol and Colm Burtchaell, Dublin Hurling Development Officer.

St.Patrick's Club Donabate:

FODHC Cathaoirleach Eugene Davey was busy recently when he travelled out to St.Patrick's in Donabate to present the club with Sliotair. The reason? The club filled a bus  of U12'S for the recent Leinster Championship game in Páirc an Chrócaigh Offaly v Dublin. It was quite the family affair as Eugene's son Conor is a mentor with the club and he is the gentleman receiving the gift of sliotair from FODHC Cathaoirleach Eugene.

The happy team photo shows another hardworking mentor Shane Manton on the left in a high vis jacket. Maith sibh St.Patrick's Donabate.

Golf time is looming!

Time is pushing on for the 21st Annual Golf Classic on Thursday May 22nd in Castlewarden Golf and Country Club. As tee off times are filling up, get in touch with the following FODHC members immediately to book your preferred time! See attached poster.

Also next Friday is the Dublin Camogie Golf Classic going ahead in Malahide Golf Club. See attached poster. Never know who you might meet there!
