Five Dublin Players Pick Up 2023 All-Star Awards

Fri, 17th November 2023

2023 All-Ireland SFC Champions Dublin picked up five PwC All-Stars at the awards ceremony at the RDS in Ballsbridge on Friday evening.

Stephen Cluxton, Michael Fitzsimons and James McCarthy had already made history this year when they became the first nine-time All-Ireland Senior Football winners in July.

And the trio backed that up on Friday evening as they each claimed a 2023 All-Star award.

They were joined on stage by Brian Fenton and Colm Basquel in the Team of the Year.

Cluxton claimed his seventh award in goal- and is now the oldest All-Star winner at 41 years of age.

Fitzsimons picked up his fourth All-Star award in defence, alongside Dublin captain McCarthy, who won his fifth on the night.

Fenton- who was also nominated for Footballer of the Year- was named in midfield for his sixth award, while Basquel won his first ever All-Star in the full-forward line.

Kerry and Derry both claimed four awards each, with one for both Monaghan and Roscommon.
