First aid thesis questionnaire: Evan Comerford

Dublin senior footballer Evan Comerford, along with fellow student Aaron Concannon, is currently undertaking research work as part of his thesis for his studies in DCU.

They are looking for primary school teachers and/or final year student teachers on their teaching placement in all parts of the country to participate in their research. (See link below).

"Both Aaron and I are currently in our final year of our undergraduate studies in Athletic Therapy and Training in DCU. Under the stewardship of The School of Health and Human Performance and principal investigator Dr Siobhan O'Connor we are completing our final year project which aims to investigate the area of previous experiences, perceived competency and training in first aid and emergency situations in Irish primary school teachers," says Evan.

Here are the details of Evan and Aaron's university project - Title: Previous experiences, perceived competency and training in first aid and emergency situations in Irish primary school teachers

This study aims to identify the knowledge, perceived competency and previous training in first aid and management of emergency situations of Irish primary school teachers. This one-time questionnaire will take approximately 15 minutes to complete and has 3 sections:

(a) basic demographics (eg age, region of school, years teaching)

(b) current knowledge and training (eg previous courses taken)

Potential Benefits from your Involvement: The opportunity to give insight into how you would deal with emergency situations on school grounds, which could help shape a safer school-environment for children in the future. Your involvement within this research project is purely voluntary and under your own control. You are free to withdraw yourself from this study at any stage without prejudice or reasoning.

Confidentiality and anonymity of the gathered information is of critical importance in this study. All data collected will be within compliance of GDPR Guidelines and used as group data. The data will be shared only to Dr Siobhan O’Connor, Aaron Concannon and Evan Comerford.
