Fingal were fighting a rearguard action from the outset in this Keheo Cup clash at Swords on Sunday.

Maynooth University led from the start and by half-time were 0-8 to 0-0 clear.

John Maher was in fine form throughout, despite having a penalty saved by Fingal’s Shane Nolan in the first half, and fired over seven points (four frees).

Shane Farrelly struck the only goal of the contest to end Fingal’s very slim hopes of a revival.
