Enrol for Joe McNally Masters Sevens Tournament

Teams are currently being invited for the inaugural Joe McNally Invitational Masters Sevens Football Tournament, sponsored by AIG, which will be hosted by St Anne's on Saturday, August 31.

Players must be born in 1979 or before with 12-player squads per club. Games will be 10 minutes-a-half with unlimited substitutions. The entry fee is €150 per team which includes a meal and entertainment.

"There is a big interest. We have quite a number of clubs that have entered. We are hoping for 24 teams," said Joe.

"Masters football is a high standard. You have players who know what the game is all about. And it’s a nice way of meeting up with people you mightn’t have seen for years.

"Bohernabreena is a perfect setting for it, and the fact that it’s on the All-Ireland Football Final weekend will add to the atmosphere," states Joe.

Dublin and St Anne's legend Joe won an All-Ireland MFC medal with the Dubs in 1982 as a goalkeeper and incredibly the following summer added a senior medal as a forward when the Dubs defeated Galway in the All-Ireland decider.www.aig.ie/personal

Joe was honoured as an All Star in 1983 and added three further Leinster SFC (1984, 1985, 1989) medals to his haul as well as a NFL1 (1987).

He also represented Leinster in the Railway Cup and Ireland in the Compromise (International) Rules.
