Eleven Dubs make football All Star shortlist

Eleven Dublin footballers have been included in the 2016 GAA/GPA Football All Stars nominations list with two shortlisted for Footballer of the Year.

Brian Fenton and Ciaran Kilkenny will battle it out with Mayo's Lee Keegan in a vote by all current intercounty senior footballers for the Footballer of the Year.

The Dubs in the All Star team nominations list are Stephen Cluxton, Jonny Cooper, Philly McMahon, Cian O'Sullivan, John Small and James McCarthy along with Brian Fenton, Ciaran Kilkenny, Diarmuid Connolly, Dean Rock and Kevin McManamon.

There are eight counties listed for the awards, which takes place on November 4. The breakdown is: Dublin 11; Mayo 11; Tyrone 6; Tipperary 5; Kerry 4; Galway 4; Donegal 3; Clare 1.

GOALKEEPERS: Stephen Cluxton (Dublin), David Clarke (Mayo), Evan Comerford (Tipperary).

DEFENDERS: Jonny Cooper, Philly McMahon, Cian O’Sullivan, John Small, James McCarthy (all Dublin), Brendan Harrison, Keith Higgins, Lee Keegan, Colm Boyle, Patrick Durcan, Kevin McLoughlin (all Mayo), Shane Enright, Killian Young (both Kerry), Paddy McGrath, Ryan McHugh (both Donegal), Cathal McCarron (Tyrone), Declan Kyne (Galway), Robbie Kiely (Tipperary).
