The annual Dublin Bus/Herald Dubs Stars hurling and football challenge games have been rescheduled for Sunday week (January 31) in the home grounds of Kilmacud Crokes (Glenalbyn, Stillorgan), which will see the cream of Dublin's club talent take on Ger Cunningham and Jim Gavin's senior Dublin teams.
The games provide an excellent opportunity to see Dublin GAA heroes up close in action when the Senior Dublin hurlers and Senior Dublin footballers take on the Herald/Dublin Bus Dubs Stars. The hurling game throws in at 12.30pm, with the football match at 2pm.
Senior Hurling Championship and League winners Cuala, provide eight players for the Dubs Stars Hurling selection.
Goalkeeper Seán Brennan is joined by team-mates, Dublin Hurler of the Year Cian O'Callaghan; fellow defenders, Oisín Gough and Seán Moran along with midfielder Darragh O'Connell and forwards Colm Cronin, David Treacy and Mark Schutte.
David's younger brother Seán has been named among the reserves.
St Jude's, Lucan Sarsfields and Ballyboden St Enda's also provide representatives on the starting 15.
Leinster champions Boden provide eight players for the Dubs Stars Football selection, with seven in the starting line-up.
Donegal goalkeeper Paul Durcan; Dublin Footballer of the Year Darragh Nelson; Stephen Hiney, Shane Clayton, Michael Darragh Macauley, Ryan Basquel and Andrew Kerin are in the starting 15, with defender Bob Dwan among the substitutes.
Food and beverages are available on the day pitch side, while young Dublin fans will have the opportunity to get autographs and photos with their heroes.
A free shuttle bus service is available to and from the Stillorgan Luas and Blackrock Dart stations.
Admission on the day is €10 with all accompanied children (under 16) free.
