Dubs “relish” upcoming clash with Cork: Laura Twomey

Wed, 3rd July 2019

Dublin's senior camogie side face reigning All-Ireland champions, Cork, this Saturday in Parnell's GAA club, Coolock (4.0).

The Dubs have one win and one loss from their two championship games to date and now the face the ultimate test.

Dublin defeated Meath in the opener before losing narrowly to Waterford last time out, two weeks ago.

“This is the type of match that we all will relish,” states Dublin's Laura Twomey.

“It's great to be playing them at home. We always seem to be going down to Cork, so that makes a nice change.

“Having the two-week gap from the Waterford game is good. It allows us to prepare as well as we can for Cork.

“Giving us the time to work on things and to look back on our two matches so far, do our analysis and focus in on Cork.”

Reflecting on the defeat to the Deise Laura says: “It was tight for a lot of that game. They pulled away in the second half.

“We were disappointed we didn't get something out of it, but the team worked hard and we'll go again now for this one. It's all very much in the melting pot.

“Like the hurling, the camogie championship has provided much excitement in recent years, and with five games in a six-team group, there's plenty to play for.”
