Dublin will have to plan without Cian O’Sullivan as the Kilmacud Crokes man returns to full fitness following surgery to rectify a groin-related hip problem.
Following last summer’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final defeat to Donegal Cian lined out with his club on a few occasions before the injury forced him to stop and he went for an operation last October.
Cian has resumed straight line running in training and hopes to step it up this week.
“At the beginning of the year I was able to get through it,” says Cian.
“I got a few procedures and that seemed to tide it over, and then just progressively – as the season went on – I was getting worse and worse.
“The day of reckoning came the day after the Donegal game – I was struggling to walk down the stairs and stuff like that. That was probably when it was at its worst.
“I played a bit with the club after, and it just kept on flaring up. So I decided in October to get the operation done.”
