Dublin Ladies Minor team book place in Leinster Final

Leinster Minor Football Championship Rd 3

FT Dublin 1-16 Longford 1-05.

Dublin confirmed their place in the 2025 Minor provincial final with a victory over Longford today in their final group fixture before a sizeable crowd of supporters at Tom Russell Park home of St Brigid's GAA club.

Meanwhile over at Clogherinkoe GAA club in County Kildare the home side had four points to spare over rivals Meath to set up a provincial final meeting with the Dubs on Easter Monday, April 21st. FT score Kildare 3-08 Meath 2-07.

Dublin playing with the aid of a strong wind in the opening period lead Longford at the break by 1-09 to 0-00. Gemma Connolly was on target for the opening goal of the half. Dubs manager, Declan Patton made several substitutions at the interval giving his panel an opportunity to shine on home turf.

Longford to their credit rallied back into the game during the opening quarter of the second half tagging on a couple of points before hitting Dublin with a well taken goal. However their fight back was dealt a severe blow when they lost center forwarded, Ella Reilly to a straight red card with 14 minutes or so gone on the clock.

With Longford now down to fourteen players the contest between the two teams simply fizzled out. Dublin saw out the final quarter comfortably to claim their third win of the campaign. Leinster LGFA is expected to announce full details of the Dublin vs Kildare final later in this week.
