Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Association Announce Partnership with Breast Cancer Ireland

Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Association has joined forces with Breast Cancer Ireland to help raise awareness of breast cancer whilst also supporting the charity’s 'Lace Up For A Cure' Campaign. Reigning Leinster champions, Dublin will defend their provincial crown on this Sunday in O'Moore Park, Portlaoise against Laois (3.0) in the TG4 Leinster Senior Championship Final.

To raise awareness of the 'Lace Up For A Cure' campaign the Dublin squad will wear the pink laces in the Leinster Final versus Laois on July 13th in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise. Joe Keane, Dublin LGFA Chairperson said at the launch in Parnell Park:

“Dublin LGFA are delighted to partner with Breast Cancer Ireland. As one of the largest female sporting organisations in Dublin and indeed Ireland we are only too happy to support the work of BCI. Dublin LGFA is looking forward to working with BCI, to highlight awareness of breast cancer but also to raise much needed funds to enable the charity to continue with their vital services”.

Aisling Hurley Director at Breast Cancer Ireland said:

"We are delighted to partner with the Dublin Ladies Gaelic Football Association and we hope by our association more and more women, young and old, will become breast aware. Awareness helps to save lives, whether it's wearing our new pink laces as part of our 'Lace Up For A Cure' campaign or downloading our free app 'Breast Aware', we want women everywhere to recognise that their breast health is their wealth."

Dublin LGFA clubs can play their part and get involved with the 'Lace Up For A Cure' campaign by purchasing the pink laces. Laces available through www.breastcancerireland.com they are priced at €5 each, with a total of €4.70 going directly to fund Breast Cancer Ireland’s pioneering research programmes. The Dublin LGFA club who sells the highest number of pink laces will win a training session for a juvenile club team of their choice with members of the Dublin senior squad.
