Dublin defender Philly McMahon has praised the Dublin fans and says the can have a role to play also in Sunday's All-Ireland SFC final against Mayo.
The Dubs suffered a punishing conclusion to the opening half in their semi-final victory over Kerry but responded brilliantly in the second period.
“The Dublin fans are amazing, even when we’re not winning," says Philly.
“Against Kerry, when the opposition had a purple patch, you could hear them.
“A lot of teams will find that tough, when the opposition have got a couple of scores and the crowd is going mad, that’s when you really have to zone in on what you’re supposed to do.
“You accept it. I think if you try block it out, it’s worse for you, because it’s the elephant in the room, isn’t it?
“You hear the Kerry fans and you hear them get up off their seats if they score… you accept it, you go, ‘hold on, that could be a trigger for me to go on and do my next job’,” adds the Ballymun Kickhams man.
