“Hot & Fiery” … Dublin captain Carla Rowe is looking forward to this Saturdays TG4 Leinster SFC round one clash with Meath. The Clann Mhuire ace is expecting another tough encounter with the Royal County.
Dublin handed Meath their biggest defeat to date of the season when the two sides meet in round five of the Lidl NFL back in March at Parnell Park. Dublin hit top form on that occasion chalking up an impressive 2-19 to Meath’s 0-09.
Carla is under no illusion that Dublin will face a very different Meath team this weekend.
Dublin are hoping to add another Leinster crown to their tally as the County celebrates the 40th anniversary of the foundation of Ladies Gaelic football in the Capital.
This season, Meath are looking to bridge a twenty-five-year gap having last claimed the senior provincial title back in 2000.
Two times Meath All Ireland winner, Monica McGuirk back in January of this year said “One of our main focuses has to be - and is this year - a Leinster title. Because again it’s one of the medals that still isn’t there yet for a lot of girls. It’s something that we want to drive on to try and get”.
This Saturday’s encounter at Páirc Tailteann has all the makings of another battle between these two great rivals. A game not to be missed.
