Dublin hurler Niall McMorrow has been ruled out of the upcoming Leinster SHC while Ross O'Carroll has opted off the hurling panel.
The Dubs began their campaign on Sunday week against Galway in Croke Park (2.0) and will have to plan without the Ballyboden St Enda's man who has to undergo corrective surgery on a thumb ligament problem. He will be out of action for two months.
"Niall has to get an operation on a ligament in his thumb. It needs to be done now to avoid any long-term issues. He is likely to be out of full action for two months but would return to rehab training very quickly," said Dublin selector Gearóid O Riain.
Meanwhile, Ross O’Carroll has opted out of the Dublin squad in order to concentrate on club football.
Dublin manager Ger Cunningham said: “He (O’Carroll) wants to concentrate on club football. He’s a staunch clubman and they have a game coming up in a couple of weeks.”
The game in question is Crokes crucial SFC Round 2 tie with BallyBoden St Enda's on June 6 in Parnell Park.
