DCU hope to stay on winning run in Fitzgibbon Cup

DCU will hope to extend their Fitzgibbon Cup journey when they face holders UCC in Saturday's semi-final at DCU Sportsgrounds (4.0).

The Glasnevin university had never won the coveted prize but were finalists in 2018 when they were beaten by University of Limerick (2-21 to 2-15).

DCU have a big Dublin club representation with the following involved - Ciarán Dowling (Lucan Sarsfields), Shane Howard (Fingallians), Lee Gannon (Whitehall Colmcille), Peter Feeney (Na Fianna), Rian McBride (St Vincent's), Paddy Smyth (Clontarf), Donal Burke (Na Fianna), Conor Burke (St Vincent's), Fergal Whitely (Kilmacud Crokes), Kevin Burke (Na Fianna), Fintan Mac Gibb (Setanta), Daire Gray (Whitehall Colmcille), Dara Perry (St Vincent's) and Seán Currie (Na Fianna).

DCU defeated Waterford IT in their quarter-final (1-23 to 2-14) after overcoming University of Limerick (0-21 to 0-18), Maynooth University (1-20 to 1-12), and Trinity College (4-25 to 1-11) in the group phase.

The other semi-final pits Mary Immaculate against IT Carlow, also in DCU's Sportsgrounds (2.0). The final takes place on Wednesday, February 12 (7.30) at DCU Sportsgrounds.
