Dublin footballers may have dominated the Leinster SFC over the past decade but defender Darren Daly is not looking any further than this Sunday's quarter-final against Laois in Croke Park (4.0) as the Dubs commence the defence of their provincial and All-Ireland titles.
"It's (Leinster Championship) been quite competitive. Yeah, we've come out and won Leinster. But if you go back and look at the results, there weren't too many easy games."
"So all we're focused on is the first round of Leinster. Because if we look beyond that, it will come back to haunt us. I can guarantee you that" says the Fingal Ravens clubman.
Dublin's recent All-Ireland under-21 success, when they defeated Roscommon in the decider, was a timely fillip to some of the younger members of Jime Gavin's side but Darren says it has also been a boost to the entire squad.
"There is great confidence within the group at the moment. There's a great mix of youth and experience. A lot of the under-21 lads are coming in. And they've been successful so mentally, they're in a good place."
"There is a great mix there, points out. Things are going well. But if you take your eye off the ball, things can change very quick," he cautions.
