Daire Plunkett: We looked for a reaction and I think we got it

Daire Plunkett is delighted with Dublin's victory in last Saturday's night's NHL Division 1A tie with Galway, coming as it did just a week after the Dubs flat-lined against Tipp in Thurles.

"We had a very honest meeting after the match last week (v Tipp)," says the St Brigid's man."We knew it wasn’t good enough. We looked for a reaction this week and I think we got it. Our work-rate wasn’t anything near what it needed to be. Our use of the ball was very sloppy.

“We just didn’t work hard enough and when we don’t have that work-rate, we’re a very average team.

“When we do have it, we’re up there with anybody.”

Dublin next face Cork in Croke Park on Saturday March 5 in a double-header with the NFL meeting of the same counties.
