Cuala primed for SHC ‘A’ final against St Jude’s

Cuala primed for SHC ‘A’ final against St Jude’s

Tue, 27th October 2015

Cuala will be hoping to go one better than they did in their last appearance in a Dublin SHC ‘A’ final when they face St Jude’s in Saturday’s decider at Parnell Park (3.0).

The Dalkey men were defeated by Kilmacud Crokes in the 2012 final and Saturday’s big game provides them with an opportunity to atone to some degree.

Cuala last tasted success in 1994, they will be hoping Sunday can end that barren spell.

“We felt we left it behind us,” says Cuala defender Oisín Gough when reflecting on that clash against Crokes.

“And we are gunning for the final now. It's our second final in three years, and we have been very eager to get back there.

“We have been training very hard since the start of the year. Our preparations began in early January.

“Then when the county players came back, they picked it up even more. The change in intensity was noticeable. And that has really helped us.”

Ticket prices for Saturday's SHC 'A' final and Sunday's SFC final are - Stand: €13 adults, €10 students, €5 OAPs; Terrace: €13 adults, €5 for students and OAPs; U16s free of charge; Juvenile groups to terrace only.
