Crummey praises huge Dublin support

Mon, 3rd June 2019

Dublin hurling captain Chris Crummey has hailed the support his side received in their Leinster SHC win over Carlow at Netwatch Cullen Park on Sunday.

An Eamonn Dillon brace helped the Boys in Blue to a crucial 2-22 to 1-13 win over Carlow.

Crummey says the travelling Dublin support played a big part in the victory.

“The support was huge from the start. The conditions were really tough, so the crowd were really almost the 16th man urging us on and keeping us going to get the win.

“The last day at Parnell Park against Wexford they were unbelievable as well. They really pushed us on to get that goal in the last minute to level it."

Crummey is hopeful that big Dublin support will convene on Parnell Park on Saturday week, when they face a must-win clash against Galway.

“We’ll need a big vocal crowd at Parnell against Galway. It’s really do or die for us and we need all the support we can get.

“Parnell Park is a real fortress for us. The atmosphere is unreal. And hopefully against Galway we can use that to our advantage to try get the result we badly need.”
