Goals in the opening half from Mark Grogan and Eddie Gibbons ultimately secured a 2-14 to 0-16 victory for Kilmacud Crokes against Whitehall Colmcille in Saturday’s exciting Dublin U16HC ‘A’ final at Parnell Park.
That Colmcille did not raise a green flag is due primarily to the excellence of Tadgh Dunbar in the Crokes goals as he matched the best Whitehall could offer.
Just before the midpoint of the opening half Mark Grogan came from deep before firing home a great goal to boost Crokes.
Before the interval Eddie Gibbons found the net with a penalty and it was those two goals that saw them to victory.
Whitehall gave it their all with Ciarán P Murphy scoring six frees as well as four from play in an outstanding display with the likes of Lee Gannon and Enda O’Donnell also to the fore.
