Ballyboden St Enda’s forward Ryan Basquel is under no illusion of the task his side face in this Saturday’s AIB All-Ireland club SFC semi-final against Clonmel Commercials in O’Moore Park, Portlaoise (4.30).
“All the sides are so strong. They all work so hard. The talent in the competition is remarkable.
“We had a tough first round against St Maur’s. Crokes and Plunkett’s are quality outfits. Clontarf were phenomenal in the semi-final, and then Vincent’s.
“When you come out of a championship like that, you have to make the best of your opportunity. Winning the Dublin title is such a big ask. We were so delighted to have done it.”
“They (Clonmel Commercials) are an excellent side. They have so many Tipperary county players – under-21s and seniors. They have calibre like Michael Quinlivan, Jason Lonergan, Ian Fahey and Seamus Kennedy.
“That was a massive win against Nemo. They have beaten some big teams, but so have we. It should be a good game.”
Ryan missed out on Boden's Leinster run to provincial glory but has returned to full contact training in recent weeks.
