There was no luck for Castleknock or Craobh Chiarain over the weekend in their Leinster campaigns.
Castleknock were defeated 1-10 to 0-12 after extra-time by Louth's Sean O'Mahony's in Clan na Gael Park in their Leinster Club IFC first round duel when a sluggish start left the Dublin 15 side trailing 1-4 to 0-1 at one stage of the opening half.
They recovered before the interval to find themselves a goal in arrears, 1-5 to 0-5.
Castleknock made a far better start to the second half with four points in-a-row from Des Carlos propelling his side into the lead.
However, points the Louth men forced extra-time before prevailing in extra-time.
Craobh likewise were beaten by Louth opposition as Oliver Plunkett's got the better of them, 0-8 to 0-7, in their Leinster Club JFC first round replay in Drogheda.
Stephen Kirwan gave Chiarains a good start however their inability to turn scoring opportunities into points told against them.
Their defence, with Eugene Farrell and Darren Kelly prominent, played well but their trouble was at the other end of the pitch.
Craobh did get in front in the second half with points from Alan McCrabbe and Gary Kelly but it wasn't to be for the Donnycarney men.
