AIG and Dublin GAA have revealed a specially designed jersey that the Dublin senior footballers will wear for the duration of the 2015 Bord na Mona O’Byrne Cup - beginning with this Sunday's clash against NUI Maynooth in Parnell Park (2.0).
AIG is supporting the Irish Heart Foundation’s On The Dry™ campaign this January and as part of that support AIG has removed its logo from the front of the Dublin jersey to be replaced by the On The Dry™ message.
On The Dry™ is the first year of a new and exciting fundraising initiative that asks people to challenge themselves by giving up alcohol for January, in a bid to improve their health and wellbeing and find new ways to engage with family and friends, all while raising money to help fight heart disease and stroke. The Irish Heart Foundation with the support of AIG is encouraging people to sign-up now at www.onthedry.ie and go give up alcohol for the month.
The Irish Heart Foundation will be helping people to Stay In, Stay Dry™ by providing lots of fun ways to pass the time without alcohol in January; from family days out, to cosy nights in, while fundraising at the same time. The top 300 fundraisers and a partner of their choice will get to participate in an exciting urban adventure – the Dry Run™ which will take place on Saturday, February 7th 2015 and will feature a range of exciting challenges all around Dublin, including a hamster dash in zorbs, a climbing wall, an insect tasting challenge and a zip line. The aim is to complete the challenge as quickly as possible; participants will be given a list of clues at the start of the day which will lead them from challenge to challenge.
Declan O’Rourke, General Manager of AIG Ireland commented: “AIG is delighted to support the Irish Heart Foundation’s On the Dry™ campaign for 2015. By removing our logo from the front of the Dublin senior football jersey for the duration of the O’Byrne Cup we’re showing our commitment to the campaign.
“By displaying the On the Dry™ message on the front of the Dublin jerseys we hope to help raise further awareness and I’d like to thank the Dublin County Board for their cooperation and support.
“I’m going On the Dry™ myself for January and we will be encouraging all of our colleagues to join me.”
Funds from the On the Dry™ initiative will go directly to helping fight heart disease and stroke.
