ALL-IRELAND LADIES SFC GROUP 2 ROUND 3

DUBLIN 3-20 MONAGHAN 0-4

Dublin powered to a 25-point victory over Monaghan in Saturday afternoon's All-Ireland Ladies SFC Group 2 Round 3 clash at Parnell Park.

The Jackies were much too classy for their opponents with Sinéad Aherne returning from injury to kicked an impressive 1-11 (1-0 pen, 0-7f).

Dublin will face Kerry on Monday, August 5 in their quarter-final in O'Connor Park, Tullamore (4.45).

Dublin were 13 points clear at the interval, 1-12 to 0-2, with Aherne getting the goal from the penalty spot and were never under any pressure in the second half as Dublin top their group following victories over Waterford and the Farney County.

Caoimhe O'Connor got Dublin's second goal in the 42nd minute with Noelle Healy adding a third five minutes later to make it 3-16 to 0-4 at that stage.

Before the finish Aherne embellished her personal tally with three late converted frees.

Dublin bolted out of their blocks with points from Oonagh Whyte, and two from Sinéad Aherne (one free) inside three minutes.

An Aoife Kane point in the seventh minute kickstarted another flurry of Dublin scores with Aherne adding a point before converting a penalty as she tallied 1-5 in the opening half (1-0 pen, 0-2f).

Carla Rowe, Lyndsey Davey and an Aherne free made it 1-8 to 0-1 after 22 minutes before a Monaghan free from Louise Kerley broke Dublin's chain of scores.

However, before the interval the Jackies pushed further clear with scores form Aherne, Noelle Healy, Oonagh Whyte and Carla Rowe to lead 1-12 to 0-2 at half-time.
