Round-up: Adult Football League Division 1

A round-up of Sundays sunny AFL1 games across Dublin. 

Ballymun Kickhams v Cuala:

A very competitive first half, but BK pulled away after an early second half penalty and a sending off not soon after.  Matthew Clancy (Cuala) and Jason Whelan (Ballymun) had fine scoring performances. The match finished 4-10 to 0-08 in favour of table toppers Ballymun.

St Vincent;s v St Oliver Plunkett's ER:

In a repeat of last year’s county final in Pairc Naomh Uinsionn, St Vincent’s beat St Oliver Plunketts ER 2-14 1-9. The home side led 1-9 to 0-4 at the break with the goal coming from Tomás Quinn. Plunkett’s rallied in the second half thanks to an excellent Bernard Brogan goal but Vins closed it out a hard fought second half through a Shane Carthy goal.

St Brigid's v Kilmacud Crokes:

The only game of the weekend not to produce a goal. It was a solid away win for Kilmacud Crokes who overcame Brigids in Russell Park. The final score was 0-08 to 0-12.

St Jude's v St Maur's:

A well fought draw for St Maur's away in Tymon! The draw gets Maur's off the mark this season. The tie finished St Jude's 0-14 St Maur's 2-08.

Na Fianna v Parnell's: 

A strong Na Fianna side put Parnell's to the sword in Mobhi Road. The tie was decide by a second-half hat-trick by Conor McHugh who came on at the interval. Parnells are the only team still not to register a point in this seasons League. Na Fianna were convincing winners by 18. Score: 3-19 to 1-07.

Thomas Davis v Ballyboden St Enda's:

Thomas Davis were agonisingly close, but lost out by the minimum on their home turf against Ballyboden. The game finished 1-11 to 1-12.

Raheny v St Sylvester's:

 Raheny held off St Sylvester’s 3-12 to 3-11 in St Annes Park. In an open high scoring contest the Raheny goals were scored by Gavin Ivory, Davy Carroll and Eoin Keogh.

Templeogue SS v Fingal Ravens

Ravens registered a first top flight victory over Templeogue. The game was marred by injures to the home side. It finished 1-11 to 0-17.
