Féile 2015 Update

Féile 2015 Update

Fri, 24th April 2015

In the coming weeks we will host our two Féile competitions:

  • Féile na nGael on Saturday May 2nd and Sunday May 3rd
  • Féile Peil na nÓg on Saturday May 16th & Sunday May 17th

The Hurling fixtures programme for the weekend has already been issued along with the Rules and Regulations for the competition.

The Football fixture details will be issued next Tuesday April 28th.

Can I draw your attention to the following which is applicable to both Féile and ask you to make your mentors, players & supporters aware of them:

CCC2 are incorporating the National Feile charter into our rules for our Feile competitions. Central to that charter is the principle of participation for all players in a squad.

Rule 5 of our rules specify that teams must make a minimum of four substitutions. We suggest that two of these substitutions are made in the first half and the other two in the second. CCC2 will not formally rule that substitutions are made at specific times. CCC2 expects that team managers respect the spirit of the rule without the need for a formal rule on timings of substitutions or indeed sanctions for non-compliance.

Only four team mentors are allowed with each team. Please ensure that your mentors are wearing bibs to identify them clearly to the Feile officials and referees.

National & Regional participation

Bord na nÓg nominates all teams to represent Dublin at all National and Regional tournaments.

Féile na nGael

Travelling to Ulster to the Féile na nGael tournaments ( June 19th-June 21st) will be:

  • Division 3 Winners
  • Division 3 Runners Up
  • Division 4 Winners

In addition the following 6 Teams will represent Dublin at the Regional Féile na nGael tournaments ( June 20th).

  • All Four Division 1 Semi Finalists

Féile Peil na nÓg

Travelling to South Leinster to the Féile Peil na nÓg tournaments ( June 26th-June 28th) will be:

  • Division 4 Winners

In addition the following 6 Teams will represent Dublin at the Regional Féile na nÓg tournaments ( June 27th)

As previously notified to you , as per National Rules ( which Dublin has objected to ) , no County can nominate a Club "B" team to represent the county.

To date I have received no information on Provisional Féile events in both codes which if run like in 2014 will take place on June 20th( Hurling) and June 27th ( Football) and are open to all clubs including "B" teams.

Féile Referee Fees:

I will circulate referee expense fees to all Club Juvenile Secretaries on Monday.
