Dublin GAA Juveniles:- revised juvenile fixture calendar for the resumption of juvenile activities

Thu, 25th June 2020

Mo Chairde,

I hope you and your families are keeping well.

Bord na nÓg, CCC1 (U8 to U12) and CCC2 (U13 to U16) are now in a position to issue a revised juvenile fixture calendar for the resumption of juvenile activities.

The attached file contains the programme for both codes covering the age groups Under 8 to Under 16.

revised juvenile fixture calendar v2

In summary the return dates are:

  • U16s: - August 5th
  • U15s: - August 13th
  • U12s to U14s: - August 22nd
  • U8 to U11s: - August 29th

The priority is to maximise the number of games in both codes through meaningful competition.

Due to the extraordinary circumstances and the desire to provide a meaningful series of games, competition structures being proposed differ to our original 2020 plan.

We would like to stress from the outset that any club not wishing to participate at any age group or code is entirely free to do so. There will be no penalty of any kind for wishing not to return to play at this time.

For guidance only (full details to follow)

U15 & U16 Hurling & Football competitions

  • Championships will be played on a Round Robin basis, with group size based on entries, with a maximum of 16 teams in any given competition and shall be drawn, where possible, into groups of 4 by open draw. A maximum of one team per club shall be allowed in any grade.
  • The top two teams in each group shall qualify for quarter-final or semi-final (dependent on number of teams entered in specific championship), while the bottom two teams will qualify for quarter final or semi-final of a shield competition.
