A Rúnaí, a chara,
Last weekend saw over 8,000 children take part in National, Regional and Provincial Féile hurling, camogie and handball competitions throughout the country.
In hurling, Dublin had 18 teams taking part. Five Clubs took part in five Regional Tournament Blitzes on Saturday in Thurles ( Kilkenny), Waterford (Whitehall Colmcille), Galway (Ballinteer St. John's), Portlaoise (Ballyboden St Enda's) and Kilkenny (Na Fianna).
All five clubs reached their respective finals, with Kilmacud Crokes winning the inaugural Corn Sheamuis Ui Riain in Semple Stadium and Whitehall Colmcilles and Na Fianna winning their groups. At the National Finals in Ulster, St. Oliver Plunkett's Eoghan Ruadh reached the Q/F in Division 1, with Castleknock making the Semi Finals in Div.3 and St Brigid's Div.4 finalists.
In addition, on Saturday 10 clubs took part in the Leinster Provincial Blitzes throughout the province and all were more than competitive. One such club was Round Towers Clondalkin who having failed to enter the Dublin Féile saw their U/13s travel to Ballinakill, Co. Wicklow and win all their three game.
This coming weekend, we have Féile Peil na nÓg and I will update you about this later in the week.
You can view and download the CCC2 fixtures up to Friday July 3rd on our 'Juvenile Weekly Fixtures' page.
