Dublin GAA Juvenile Update Monday June 16th

Mon, 16th June 2014

A Rúnaí, a chara,

CCC2 UPDATE

Once again I remind clubs of the following CCC2 League Regulation which comes into play at this time of the year:

All games from Saturday 21st June to Saturday 23rd August 2014 (dates INCLUSIVE) may, with the agreement of BOTH teams, be played within a twelve day period BEFORE or AFTER the scheduled fixture date. They may not be played outside of this time period i.e. before 21st June or after 23rd August. All other fixtures must be played on or in advance of the scheduled date.

The purpose of the above regulation, which is in place now for several years, is to ring fence a minimum number of games per age group which must be played during the height of the Senior Inter-County Championship season.

CCC1 UPDATE

Fixtures for this coming Saturday June 21st can be found in our Fixtures section. CCC1 will issue its final full round of U/8, U/9 & U/10 Hurling fixtures on Saturday June 28th.

U/11 & U/12 Hurling on Saturday June 28th: these dates are in the calendar in order to allow clubs the opportunity to either host or travel on that Saturday.

Remember: three days notice to secretarybng.dublin@gaa.ie for all non-Dublin Club organised challenge games (one day if domestic). Check out the 2014 Juvenile Fixture Calendar for dates on the resumption post summer of the CCC1 programme.

U/11 & U/12 Camaint:

The closing date for clubs who wish to participate is Thursday June 19th. The U11s will play on the first four Tuesdays in July with the U12s playing on the Wednesday nights. This is an 11-a-side competition and we will organise fixtures on a Northside / Southside basis.

Please confirm via your Juvenile Secretary your entry and number of teams per each age group. To allow for the drawing up of advance fixtures no late entries after June 19th will be accepted.

Numbered Armbands:

As per our Go Games rules , teams at the age group U/11 & U/12 are expected to wear numbered jerseys. Bord na nÓg and CCC1 are fully aware of the financial cost involved for clubs to fulfil this regulation. We are delighted to inform you that via AIG we have sourced numbered armbands for all our U/11 & U/12 players.

The purpose of the armbands is to help our young referees identify players  both for good and not so good reasons. Each club can now collect their armbands from Parnell Park (one collection to cover all your U/11 & U/12 Teams). They come in batches numbered 1-50 and are to cover both hurling and football teams (to be shared).

Yours in Sport,

Damian Ó Murchú
