The nominees have been announced for the TG4 Player’s Player of the Year awards with the overall winners set to be announced at the 2016 TG4 All Star Awards at the Citywest Hotel on November 12.
Briege Corkery could be set to win her third Player’s Player of the Year award and her second in a row as she is nominated for the award along with fellow 11 time TG4 All Ireland winner, Bríd Stack. Dublin’s Sinead Aherne is the third nominee for the honour following a series of brilliant performances throughout the year.
After winning the player of the match award in the TG4 Intermediate All Ireland Final,Kildare goalkeeper, Mary Hulgraine, has been nominated for the TG4 Intermediate Player’s Player of the Year award and she is joined by Kildare captain, Aisling Holton as a nominee. Clare’s excellent full forward, Niamh O’Dea, had a brilliant season for the Banner county and she is also nominated for the prestigious award.
Antrim’s Claire Timoney could win her 2nd TG4 Junior Player’s Player of the Year after being selected as one of the three nominees for this year’s award, Claire is joined amongst the three nominees by her Antrim team mate, Mairéad Cooper. Mairéad Reynolds completed a memorable year after captaining Longford to TG4 Junior Intermediate All Ireland Glory as she is also nominated for the Junior Player’s Player of the Year award.
The nominees in all 3 categories have all been selected by their fellow players who could not vote for their own team mates. The overall winners in all 3 categories will all be announced at the TG4 All Star Banquet at the Citywest Hotel on November 12th.
