McCaffrey and Mannion sidelined for upcoming games

Dublin footballers will have to plan without the services of Jack McCaffrey and Paul Mannion for their next two league matches.

Both missed last Saturday’s hard-fought Division 1 victory over Monaghan in Croke Park and now face the prospect of missing out again this Saturday against Cork (Croke Park, 7.0) and again the following week against Down in Newry.

Both McCaffrey (hamstring) and Mannion (quad) picked up injuries over UCD’s successful Sigerson Cup weekend.

“Particularly at this time of the year, we’re not going to force anything,” says Dublin boss Jim Gavin.

“We’d like to have them around but we’re not going to force anything at the moment.”
